Job Description:
BILINGUAL TEACHER
Description: Teachers at the high school level who provide academic support to students whose primary language is other than English.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate with a major in Bilingual Spanish (YF) or English as a Second Language (NS) endorsement
2. Must be Highly Qualified in the content area
3. Possess technology skills
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Successful teaching experience working with a diverse population in an urban setting
2. Native fluency and/or immersion experience
3. Experience in working with second language learners
4. Experience with ESL/SSL methodology/strategies
5. Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and research based best practices in language, including literacy skills
6. Knowledge and experience in curriculum development and implementation
